【鋼の錬金術師】第42話:最後の初め

*spoiler-free*

That's "Full Metal Alchemist, Episode 42" in Japanese. (if you put that through Babelfish, you'll get "<> 42nd story" :P) Full Metal Alchemist, or FMA, is a very popular anime that hasn't been fully aired yet. Basically, since Blogger has a systematic way to store posts using HTML file based on the name - like "Kyoto Adventure" into "kyoto-adventure.html" - I wanted to see if or how it would handle double-byte web addresses.

Episode 42 was pretty cool though: It featured new opening and ending songs and made it quite clear that the series is nearing an end. As my coworker put it, it's the beginning of the end... and I can't wait until the next episode is out!

Oh yeah, I'm going for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, Level 3 in December. I don't know if I'm good enough for Level 2, so I might as well get a Level 3 certificate and get the Level 2 next year rather than fail this year and then get the Level 2 next year :P Jia, Isaque, are you guys planning to go for the JLPT this year too?

Hmm, so it stores this post as "42.html". I guess it just ignores all the double-byte characters. So from now on I can't publish posts with names consisting of nothing but a bunch of double-byte characters and "42"?

what the? you've seen up to 42 already? dang, you've seen more than I have now! I've only seen up to 29 I think, gotta see the rest before I forget. And I didn't know Jia's and Isaque's Japanese was that good. And I don't get your logic for taking the level 3 instead of the level 2 test. If you don't know if you're good enough for level 2, then how would you be able to do level 3, shouldn't level 3 be harder than level 2?
And dang, I should know this, but what exactly is a double-byte character?

Double-byte characters are the characters in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc., that take up two bytes of info to store instead of just one.
The levels in the JLPT go from 4 to 1, with 4 being the lowest level. Thus, Level 2 is harder (I heard much harder) than Level 3.

Perhaps Jason is watching the unsubbed episodes 'cause he can? =P

At least I can read the title of the blog since it's all Chinese characters...

Just noticed that the subbed version of 42 came out...

But Jay, you can watched the unsubbed episodes no problem right?

Sorta, I'll definitely miss a bunch of stuff tho :P. I actually watched a subbed version that came out early.

Which episode are you on by the way?
