Lately, I've been thinking about doing some brushing up on my French. I've (we all have, really) learned French for at least 5 years, and that adds up to a lot of time wasted if I don't get something out of it. So, going to Google.ca and upon searching for "Learn French", I came upon a pretty useful site, The French Tutorial. I did some review lessons and eventually decided to register. That's when I found out my last name was too short. The webmasters have never seen a 2-letter last name, or what? Vicious lies!!
I took a screenshot of it and found an image hosting site to put it on, but the service only allows pictures of up to 120k :(.
Members of the U-Continuum, we must stand up for our right to a short last name! :P

Ahahahaha!
That's kinda funny...
"Last name too short", Lol.
Why would the webmasters put a restriction on last names anyway? That's kind of weird. CS ppl explain this please.
Actually, I know someone whose last name is just the letter 'U'. Heh.
Hey, cool! He or she can be our leader, heh. Or maybe our mascot? :P
What the heck?! That's suprising!
And a little bit insulting too. "Your last name is too short". Bah! :-)
haha...that's so funny! and yes...go U-continum...heh.
Wow, someone with the last name of just "U", that's crazy...
and, I just had a crazy thought. No offense to Duy or Bao or etc, but I can just imagine this happening on the same website:
Please enter your first name. Duy-Khang Nguyen-Huu
!! Your first name is missing or too long. :D Ultimate Ninja!
Lol :)
But isn't their last name Nguyen-Huu?
A more apppropriate ninja-ing would be
"Your name cannot be processed because it contains an invalid character"
(i.e. some genius programmer decided names don't have hyphens)
Is this U-Continuum thing some kind of Waterloo term that I'm unfamiliar with?
Nope, it's not. The U-continuum is bascially a phrase that was coined in gr. 12 physics for me, Raymond, Paul, and Jason, 'cause we were all in the same class with Ramwa. :)
Needless to say, Ramwa found it pretty funny as well. And the term has thus expanded to include more Yu's from outside our group as well.
*heh* I find that kind of amusing :-)
