Go Canada Go!

Let's all cheer for Canada during the Olympics in Athens! So far, Canada only has a bronze medal, but we'll get more... Congrats to the Women's Synchronized Swimming team for winning our first medal! <(^.^)>

Here is the medals table.

LOL...yes, go Canada! Wow, we're so low on the standings right now, even lower than the UAE heh. Hopefully some of our other atheletes can help us out later.
And yeah, after Canada, I'd cheer for Asian teams as well. ;)

What happened to Chindia? LOL :P India isn't doing so swell at the moment...

Hmmm, I don't ever remember Canada doing so poorly in the Olympics. Maybe we're just better at the Winter Olympics, hehe :D

China all the way! Nationality first, residentiatlity second (so Canada second, but we're kinda sucking right now...)

My Dad's saying how China's performance this Olympics is above par, so it sets up nicely for Beijing 2008, where we'll ninja all the medals via geography and blasphemic judging, he he he (Oh, I'm sorry, didn't we tell you that the 100m changed to last place = first place? Muhahahaha)

Lol :P But my nationality is Canadian, so I'm cheering for Canada first - after all, that's what this post was about :D I don't really feel much attachment to China because I strongly dislike her government. But, like Kagami said, I'd still rather have the Asian teams win than the US, hehehe :P

If China is a "her", what about other countries?

Generally all nations are refered to as "her"s.

well, that's true, but I've always wondered why Germany was sometimes referred to as the "Fatherland".

Hmm, I wonder why as well... most refer to their home country as 'Motherland'. BTW, FMA has an ending theme called "Motherland". Do you remember it?
